Brigid or Brigit is the Celtic triple goddess of poetry, smith craft, healing, and inspiration. Her symbol is fire. She later evolved into the Christian St. Brigit. The goddess design is a composite of the Celtic cross, a composite of the circle (yoni) and the cross (phallus) which symbolizes the balance of male/female energies and the body of the goddess. Celtic Goddesses were often mother goddesses, deeply connected to the earth and its cycles. The composite of these two symbols represents the union of male and female within the body of the earth. My Brigid Goddess Necklace is made from fired clay with a pewter glaze. She is wrapped in sterling silver wire with star beads and garnet stones. Necklaces is strung with ruby red glass and sterling silver beads in a drop pendant "Rosary" style. Clasp is sterling silver lobster. Necklace Length - 18" around.
