Demeter is
the Greek earth mother goddess who taught humans how to grow, preserve, and prepare
grain. By teaching humans to sow and plough they could grow food, settle and prosper.

the land and bringing forth the fruits of the earth.
In
Greek mythology Demeter is the most generous of the great Olympian goddesses.

fall, when the grains were harvested. She was also worshipped in fireless rituals,
her offerings being unprocessed foods and grains.
