Sacred Goddesses

This is no ordinary line of jewelry. Created by artist Chrisalis of Sacred Earth Designs, this new line of Sacred Goddess jewelry and sculpture is both powerful and beautiful. Each image is handmade from the clays of the earth and fired beneath gemstone-like glazes. Adornments of natural stones, golden lusters and gold-filled wire complete the unique designs.

Chrisalis's special affinity for the Goddesses of India and Asia shows in her work. Pendants, earrings and figures feature both Shakti and Tara. Shakti is the energy of the cosmos, surrounding and animating the energy of the Hindu gods. Chrisalis portrays her with dynamic gold spirals dancing around key feminine energy points, magnifying and enhancing the sacred kundalini energy, used for healing, fertility and creativity.

Tara, the Great Mother of India and Tibet, is a goddess of divine compassion, offering protection to all who ask. Akua'Ba, another of Chrisalis's featured Goddess images, is the Primal Mother of the Ashanti people of Ghana, Africa. Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of birth, death, and rebirth, is associated with the planet Venus. Chrisalis's Ishtar design features lapis lazuli, her stone, which represents the creative waters of the earth and the transcending nature of heaven.

Pachamama is my favorite, perhaps because she is "full-bodied," or perhaps for deeper reasons. A primordial feminine image, Pachamama is one with the earth, centered, calm and content.
